"BlazinAce - Doctor of Internal Combustion" (pbs)

About the crazy days during the military dicatorship in Brazil, when people kept illegal stashes of fuel at home, raiders attacked cars and trucks on the deserted roads of the country, terrorists were bombing the shit out of whatever car they could put their hands on, bank heists and daring escapes were more popular than flying kites and black Opalas ruled the streets at night.
Too bad the sources I have are far from reliable, because the stuff I've read puts GTA to shame.

I can see that.. The front reminds me a bit of a mid 60's Chevelle....only smaller.

Looks just like a Holden Monaro with a different grill/headlight treatment.

Yup, it's an Opala, but only the design was inspired by the Nova, the underpinnings actually all came from Opel. Even the name is a portmanteau of Opel and Impala, because it was an Opel rebadged as a Chevrolet.

The first Opala, from 1969, looked even more reminsicent of the Chevrolets from the same period:
Even though it didn't exist as a coupé, only as a sedan, until 1972.

I too would read the shit out of that. We don't hear much about the stuff going on down there, I'd be interested in learning more.
